About Tilicho Lake Trek:
Tilicho Lake Trek is a high-spirited and challenging trekking activity in Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal. World's highest trekking pass - Thorong La Pass is one of the tough and most rewarding parts of this hike. The trek can be considered as 3/4 days stretched part of Annapurna Circuit Trek. After reaching Manang, the trail is diverted to Khangsar Village. Next day head up to Tilicho Base Camp and on the third day from Manang finally reaches Tilicho Lake. New lodges have been built at the base of Tilicho Lake so, camping is not required.
Situated at an elevation of 4,919 meters (16,138 ft) above sea-level, Tilicho Lake is popularly recognized as the highest lake due to its size on the earth. Glacier melt from the northern Annapurna Massif is mixed in Tilicho Lake making it religiously holy and important place as mentioned in a holy book of Hindus, Ramayan.
Tilicho Lake Trek trip begins from Kathmandu by driving to Besisahar following the Trisuli and Marshyangdi River. After one overnight halt, continue to drive up to the Chame Village via Jeep. Then set on foot for the rest of the trail. Passing Pisang, Manang, Khangsar Village, and Tilicho Base Camp, the main destination of this trip, Tilicho Lake will arrive. Explore the holy lake, rejoin the previous path at Yak Kharka. Afterward, follow the Annapurna Round Trekking Route and exit the trek via 15 minutes flight from Jomsom to Pokhara.
There are other options if you have more days available. Instead of fly back to Pokhara, you can directly drive to Tatopani (natural hot spring) then, either follow Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking Route or Ghandruk Poon Hill Trekking Route to Pokhara.
