About Jomsom to Muktinath Short Trek:

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is the combination of experiencing both naturally richer and religiously important places in the Mustang district of Nepal. Annapurna massif, natural hot springs, the deepest gorge on the earth - Kaligandaki River, dramatic changes in the landscape from greenery to desert, and a sacred Muktinath Temple is the major attractions of this trek.

The entire trekking is completed within 11 days from Kathmandu. You will be driven to Pokhara for the first day, 206 km in distance and reached within 6 to 7 hours. Next day, a short 1:30 hours drive up to the trekking beginning point, Nayapul.

Hiking will be of 7 days duration from Nayapul to Muktinath then to Jomsom following Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking Route. And exit by 15 mins flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Afterward drive back to Kathmandu.

The main destination of Jomsom Muktinath Trek, Muktinath Temple is an ancient sacred temple of god Vishnu. The temple is worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhist. Hindu devotees called it Mukti Kshetra (place of getting salvation) and Chumig Gyatsa (hundred waters) by Buddha followers.

Hindus believe that taking bath under 108 waterspouts located in the backyard of Muktinath Temple will rinse past sins and achieve moksha means salvation from birth and rebirth, the life cycle chain. So, you may encounter lots of Indian pilgrimages at Jomsom and Muktinath.
