About Chulu East Peak Climbing

Chulu East Peak Climbing offers the majestic glimpse of Chulu West Peak, Mt. Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, and Gangapurna. Besides these lofty mountains, Chulu East peak climbing provides an equal opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of the local Gurung people sheltered here. In addition, the trail encircles the Tilicho Lake which is recognized as the highest lake on the earth and the holy place as mentioned in a holy book of Hindus - Ramayan.

Situated at an altitude of 6,584 m (21,601 ft.) above sea-level, Chulu East Peak lies in the Manang Valley to the north of Annapurna Massif. It was first summited by a German expedition in 1955 A. D. The journey begins from the same place where the Annapurna Circuit Trek begins from, at Chame. It is 9 to 10 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu. Afterward, trek to Pisang, Manang, Base Camp of Chulu Peak, Summit Chulu East Peak then trek down to Manang, cross Thorong La Pass, and exit the trip by flying from Jomsom to Pokhara.
